Undergraduate Programs

Pursue undergraduate studies in Sociology with a three or four-year Bachelor’s degree, or give yourself an edge in the marketplace by adding a Sociology minor to your studies.

We offer a wide variety of courses in areas such as culture, deviance, education, family, gender, ethnic and race relations, health and health care, media, methods, occupations, organizations, theory, sexualities, social inequality, technologies, and work.

A sociology degree equips students with the skills for various job opportunities and careers, as well as advanced studies in specialized fields. Our courses emphasize experiential learning, inquiry-based learning, and problem-based learning methodologies.

Highlighted Undergraduate Courses

This course considers theoretical perspectives on the role of law in society and sociological research addressing areas such as criminal law, family law, environmental law, immigration law and media law.

Prerequisite(s): One of SOCIOL 1C03 or 1Z03 and enrollment in Level II or above

This course examines how the production and content of various media are linked to powerful organizations and challenged by subordinated groups through struggles over media policy or resistance through alternative media.

Prerequisite(s): One of SOCIOL 1C03 or 1Z03 and enrollment in Level II or above
