Undergraduate Programs

Pursue undergraduate studies in Sociology with a three or four-year Bachelor’s degree, or give yourself an edge in the marketplace by adding a Sociology minor to your studies.

We offer a wide variety of courses in areas such as culture, deviance, education, family, gender, ethnic and race relations, health and health care, media, methods, occupations, organizations, theory, sexualities, social inequality, technologies, and work.

A sociology degree equips students with the skills for various job opportunities and careers, as well as advanced studies in specialized fields. Our courses emphasize experiential learning, inquiry-based learning, and problem-based learning methodologies.

Highlighted Undergraduate Courses

This course overviews contemporary international migration and immigrant integration with emphasis on Canada. Topics include migration theories, immigration policies, socioeconomic integration, and the second generation.

This course examines how the production and content of various media are linked to powerful organizations and challenged by subordinated groups through struggles over media policy or resistance through alternative media.

An analysis of diversity in intimate relationships and families, including relationship formation and dissolution, caregiving, paid and unpaid labour, and social policy.
