Sociology's Post-Doctoral Fellow, Diana Singh, Awarded SSHRC's 2022 Insight Development Grant

Alongside 8 other McMaster researchers, Diana is announced to be a recipient of SSHRC's 2022 Insight Development Grant

Dec 05, 2022

Diana has won this research grant in partnership with the University of Toronto: Regulating Emotions at Work: A Study of the Psychosocial Consequences of Emotional Labour from a Multidimensional Perspective. In her own words, Diana described her research as:

"The funded project is a pilot study that will examine the consequences of emotional labour using an intersectional lens to investigate how emotional labour influences Canadians’ personal and job-related consequences, as well as the disparities in these consequences across social status groups. The project involves developing a ‘crosswalk’ (i.e. to connect) the America Occupational Information Network Database (O*NET) to Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC). The crosswalk will be accessible to other researchers who can use the O*NET in the Canadian context for 2019 data."
