Sociology of Education students put on their own mini-conference

Students in "Selected Topics in the Sociology of Education" (Sociology 4BB3) presented their end-of-term projects in the a course mini-conference hosted by Professor Robson

Apr 15, 2019

After working all term on a topic in the Sociology of Education that resonated with each student, a three-hour "mini conference" offered the opportunity for students to hone their professional presentation skills. The three-hour event was fully catered and conducted in the same manner as a professional academic conference, with each student being given 10 minutes to present their findings. Students will develop their presentations into full-length papers as their final assessment in the course. Professor Robson noted how professional and poised the students were and expects that this professional development experience will be valuable to their future careers, whatever they might be.
