PhD Student Carlo Handy Charles co-edited the special issue “Racialized Refuge” in Refuge: Canada’s Journal on Refugees

In collaboration with Drs. Kyriakides C. and Torres R. and fellow PhD Student Taha D., Carlo Handy Charles addresses the Racialized Refugee Regime and explores the connection between scholarship in refugee studies and ethnic and racial studies.

Jul 08, 2019

The special issue is a collection of outstanding papers and book reviews that discuss how racialization processes operate to shape the integration of refugees across the globe. From a multidisciplinary perspective, the special issue addresses how race and ethnicity intersect with age, territory, state, and education to shape the lives of refugees in Canada, Switzerland, Colombia, Jordan, Tanzania, among others. The issue may be accessed here.
