Max Stick has new publication on gender attitudes in Canadian sports

Sociology Ph.D. candidate Max Stick has a new publication in The Journal of Men’s Studies. The article, "Conflicts in Sporting Masculinity: The Beliefs and Behaviors of Canadian Male Athletes,” analyzes an original survey of 454 male university athletes to evaluate the extent to which their actions are consistent with their beliefs about gender equality in sport. Stick finds that "although progressive social developments are gaining traction, there is still much support for orthodox masculinity in sport.”
