Current Work: Currently I am the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator at the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF/FEESO).

My dissertation work with Dr. Howard Ramos (Western University) was published in the Canadian Journal of Higher Education and in The Equity Myth: Racialization and Indigeneity at Canadian Universities. It has also won the Edward F. Sheffield award and was featured in Nature as well as C&EN.

Comments from Dr. Karen Robson, Dr. Wijesingha’s supervisor:

“Rochelle is the first PhD student that I've had the honour to complete at McMaster. She wrote her dissertation while raising two small children, providing care to other family members, working a full-time job, and working various consultancy contracts -- all during Covid. She has overcome so much to get her PhD and I'm so proud of her.”
