McMaster Sociologist, Dr. Luca Berardi, chosen as finalist for the 2023 SSHRC Insight Award

The University of Alberta Prison Project, led by Dr. Bucerius and consisting of four scholars including Dr. Luca Berardi (McMaster), was chosen as one of three finalists for the 2023 SSHRC Insight Award, which is part of SSHRC’s Impact Award series.

These awards recognize the highest achievements in social sciences and humanities research and acknowledge significant contributions to knowledge in the field and the community.

Although not chosen as winners last year, SSHRC did put out several press releases acknowledging this nomination and research, and has asked the group to reapply this year.
