Despite the Two Row, Covenant Chain, and various treaties, settler colonialism continues to define Canada’s relationship to the Haudenosaunee and other Indigenous nations. In their book, Settler: Identity and Colonialism – first published in 2015, the same year as the TRC Calls to Action – Settler Canadians Emma Battell Lowman and Adam J Barker examine the challenges and possibilities of redefining relationships and decolonizing Canada. Join them in conversation with Professors Rick Monture (Mohawk Turtle Clan) and Bonnie Freeman (Algonquin/Mohawk) as they reflect on what has changed in Canada over the past decade, what has not, and what the future might hold.
