It’s not too early to start thinking about Level II program selection

As the winter term begins, it’s not too soon for students to be thinking about Level II program selection. The range of programs options in the Social Sciences can be overwhelming, and the Faculty wants to help Level I students choose a program which best suits their educational and career goals.

Jan 07, 2019

To be prepared for program selection at the end of the term, Level I students are encouraged to review the program requirements for each area study before the last day for enrolment and course changes on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

If students are having difficulty changing courses, the academic advising office has extended drop-in hours until January 15.

  • Monday to Wednesday and Friday 10 – 11:30 a.m.
  • Monday to Friday 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.

The Faculty of Social Sciences will also be hosting its annual Level II Showcase for Level I students. The event will take place on Thursday, March 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the L.R. Wilson Hall Lobby.

Faculty members, staff and students from all Social Sciences departments will be on-hand to provide information and answer questions. Information available during the Level II Showcase will include: the various the programs options in the Social Sciences, as well as information on postgraduate and career options.

Representatives from the Social Sciences Office of Experiential Education, Mohawk Certificate Programs, and McMaster's Centre for Continuing Education will also be present to answer questions. Students thinking about studying abroad will also be able to learn more about exchange options.
