Graduate Programs

A graduate experience that fosters close mentorship with faculty members who are leading scholars in the fields of Gender, Sexuality and Family; Political Sociology, Social Movements and Policy; Race, Ethnicity, and Immigration; Social Inequality; Social Psychology; and Sociology of Work and Occupations.

Undergraduate Programs

We offer a wide variety of courses in such areas as culture, deviance, education, family, gender, ethnic and race relations, health and health care, media, methods, occupations, organizations, theory, sexualities, social inequality, technologies, and work.

Responding to Gangs, Guns, and Violence in Ontario

Dr. Luca Berardi, Assistant Professor of Sociology engaged in a dialogue with government officials, the Toronto Police Department, and academics studying gun violence to reduce the problems of gangs and guns.

Sociology students present research at international conference

Sociology PhD student, Alan Santinele-Martino, and 4th-year undergraduate student, Tianna-Lynn Follwell, were part of a team from McMaster University presenting their research, “Teaching at the Intersections: Identity, Social Location, and the Experiences of Teaching Assistants” at the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning conference in Bergen, Norway last month.
