Canada pension plan (CPP) and maximum benefit recipients in retirement: a profile of an exclusive group and gender differences

Dr. Lisa Kaida, with co-authors Peter Kitchen and James Chowhan, has a new article published in SN Business & Economics examining Canadians who receive the maximum Canada Pension Plan (CPP) retirement benefit. Using national data, the study profiles this small and exclusive group of retirees and explores gender differences in earnings histories, employment patterns, and retirement outcomes. The findings shed new light on long-term labour market inequality and the role of CPP in shaping financial well-being in later life.
